International Student Admissions
Contra Costa Christian Schools welcomes students from around the world to its beautiful 7 acre campus in Walnut Creek. We have hosted students from Korea, China, Thailand, Viet Nam, Ukraine and Germany.
Contra Costa Christian Schools is registered with SEVIS, the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System and is authorized to issue I-20s to international students so that they may acquire an F-1 Visa. In addition to the regular application for admission, international students must conduct a Skype interview with our Principal and International Student Coordinator.
Contra Costa Christian School does have a limited supply of “homestays” where students live with a host family. Hosts provide accommodations, transportation and meals. Hosts also provide guidance, friendship and assistance during the student’s attendance.
Application Dates
Parents may submit the application after January 1. Applications, including the family interview, must be completed by April 15. After April 15 any remaining openings will be filled on a rolling admission basis.
Application Procedure
International students from all countries other than China should follow the procedure below. International students coming from China should work through the Cambridge Institute to apply to Contra Costa Christian Schools. We have partnered with the Cambridge Institute to help Chinese students work through the admissions process and to be placed properly. You may contact Sarah Sadiq at (781) 270-1066 or email admissions@thecambridgeinstitute.org
Step 1 Complete Online Application
You may access our application by clicking here. A current photo of your child is requested to help the Admission Committee put a face with a name! The $425 registration fee is due when the application is submitted.
Step 2 Request for Transcripts
We ask that you include the last two years of grade reports, translated into English, including any other testing results with your application. We do not require official transcripts directly from the student’s current school.
Step 3 The Student Statement
The student will be asked to answer a series of questions designed to give the Admission Committee and understanding of his or her areas of interest, and to assist the Committee in making a decision that matches the student’s aptitudes and skills with our curriculum. Click here for the form.
Step 4 Immunization Records
We must have a copy of the student’s immunization record translated into English.
Step 5 Confidential Financial Statement
In order to issue an I-20 form, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement require that all parents of applicants submit proof of their ability to support their child's studies. This documentation is usually required when applying for an F-1 visa in which case you may submit a copy of the F-1 application instead of the Confidential Financial Statement.
Step 6 Submit iTEP/SLATE Testing Scores
To schedule a testing date, please call 1-818-887-3888 or visit www.itepexam.com
Step 7 Admissions Interview
Once Contra Costa Christian Schools has received all above mentioned documents, you will be contacted to participate in a family interview. Admission interviews generally take about 20 minutes and are an informal, get-to-know-you time in which we will also look for English proficiency. This process will take place with a Skype interview.
Step 8 Contra Costa Christian Schools Issues I-20 and Financial Contract
Once all paperwork and interviews are complete, the school will issue an I-20 and a financial contract.
